Pit Bulls

Pit Bulls are quite possibly the most abused and misunderstood breed out there. A Pit Bull who is raised properly can be a sweet, wonderful companion and family pet. The reason there are so many "mean" Pit Bulls, is not because they are born this way, it is because of the irresponsible people who became interested in this breed. People abuse them, teach them to fight, train them to be aggressive and neglect them leaving them chained in yards or to wander and fend for themselves. ANY breed raised this way could turn to it's defensive instincts and become aggressive towards humans and other animals.

What is a "Pit Bull?" The term "Pit Bull" most commonly refers to the UKC recognized breed American Pit Bull Terrier or the AKC recognized breeds American Staffordshire Terrier and Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Look below for pictures of my sweet American Pit Bull Terrier, Wilbur, who we rescued from the Chester County SPCA. Wilbur was picked up as a stray and due to scars on his neck and his fearful personality, we assume he was chained in a yard for the first few years of his life, and either escaped or was let free to roam one day. He quickly settled in and he and Kelly my English Cocker are the best of friends.
